Music: A Universal Language for Healing and Touching the Soul 3 November, 2018 9:30 am - 11:30 pm(please note the extended presentation time )
The therapeutic use of music in China’s history goes back thousands of years. Presenters Hong Chou and Brea Murakami will reference the Chinese classic “The Canon of Huangdi” (皇帝內經), and demonstrate how musicians applied music healing concepts through their compositions and to their lives. The program will reveal how contemporary music therapy, including collaborations between doctors and musicians, is used in diverse clinical populations through storytelling and interactive music experiential learning.
